I am associate professor at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). I also hold appointments with School of Computing, Institute of Data Science, and NUS Graduate School (NGS/ISEP) . My main research is in computer vision and deep learning, particularly in the domains of low level vision (bad weather/nighttime, color analysis, physics-based vision, optical flow, etc.), human pose/motion analysis, deep learning's applications, particularly in medical image analysis. I actively and regularly publishes papers in renowned international AI journals and conferences like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, among others, and served as area chair in some these conferences. I received my PhD from The University of Tokyo, and was affiliated with Australian National University, Imperial College London, and Utrecht University. Currently, I am the area director of Signal Analysis and Machine Intelligence group at the ECE department.
